Meet Dr. Garrelick
Stuart J. Garrelick
I am extremely fortunate to have selected a profession that helps people achieve the smile of their dreams! I've been practicing orthodontics since 1966 and have never tired of meeting new people, facing new challenges and working together with my patients to help them live happier, healthier more self confident lives.
On the way to becoming an orthodontist, I attained the following educational degrees and certificates:
- New York University, University College of Arts and Sciences - Bachelor of Arts
- New York University, College of Dentistry - DDS, Graduated with honors
- William Beaumont General Hospital - U.S. Army Rotating Dental Internship
- Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine - Certificate in Orthodontics
I am a career-long member and past president of the New-Conn Orthodontic Study Club and Foundation, a group of prominent orthodontists from the tri-state area who meet regularly to review current literature, discuss new advances in technology, and consult on difficult cases.
As a part of my continuing education, I am also a frequent attendee at national, regional, and local orthodontic meetings and courses, such as the American Association of Orthodontists, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists and Connecticut State Orthodontic Society. I also obtain information on emerging orthodontic methods through various webinars and journals.
I embrace the opportunity to partner with wonderful children and adults to help them realize their maximum dental potential, both functionally and esthetically. The individuality of my patients and the plethora of challenges presented in orthodontic treatment keep me on my toes!
For nearly 45 years, I have been lucky to share laughter and meaningful conversation with our patients and their families, and have been blessed with a team who enjoy serving our community! Both our front office and treatment room staff are long-term and have intimate knowledge of the best orthodontic methods available. They also love chatting with patients and parents and want your visit to be comfortable and positive!
Family and Community
I am originally from the Bronx, New York, but have lived in Norwalk CT since 1966 and enjoy calling this community my home. I have two sons named Gary and Robert, and three grandsons, Matthew, Jason and David. All three of my grandsons are or were patients in our office!
In my spare time, I enjoy sports, reading, golf, theater and travel. I am also active in our community. I served as past president and member of the board of directors of the Norwalk Jewish Community Center, and a past vice president and current member of board of directors of Congregation Beth El. Also as past president, current treasurer and long time member of the board of my Condominium Association
